The 'Mobox' Affix came about in 1988 although Christine had been involved with the breed for several years before hand. We decided on the affix of 'Mobox' by using the start of our surname 'Mould' followed by the start of 'Boxer'. We are extremely proud to have (and have had) some beautiful dogs which carry the Mobox name. We pride ourselves in quality NOT quantity and because of that we have not bred a litter of over 5 years. We have now made the heart rendering decision never to breed another litter in this wonderful breed. Why ? Its simple really, the bred is being flooded by puppy farmers. individuals breeding from bitches over and over again, giving no concern to the breed and interested in one thing, and one thing alone - MONEY ! Having been involved with breed for over 30 years we have seen some of the 'greats' in the ring and we are saddened to have also seen some a lot of friends and breeders give up on showing because of this 'cut throat', so called 'hobby'. We have discovered the same, people can be very, very nasty. When a hobby turns into a money making position these people will stop at nothing to get what they want. To them winning is everything, their dogs become 'stock' and used for breeding - the more they win the more they can goat and the more money they can make from puppy sales and studs. Going back to when we first started showing in the ring we had an average entry of around 30 boxers, spread over a handful of classes (if we were lucky), I remember attending an open show with excess of 20 puppies in one class alone ! Today, that has gone, shows are lucky to get one or two boxers entered. Why ? Its simple really, a friend stops being a friend the day you beat them and these so called friends are the people who stop at nothing to get what they want. Looking back over the years we have never had to advertise puppies for sale nor have we had to advertise our dogs. Our dogs have won on their own merit, they all have fantastic temperaments and their reputation goes before them. Having purchased our first Newfoundland in 2001 we can proudly say that we have never looked back. We find this breed to be more more friendly and have spent the last few years enjoying tremendous successes in the ring.
