30th September 2007

Today we crossed the Irish Sea for our annual trip to Belfast Championship Show, another one that we will not be forgetting in a hurry !  We always enjoy this trip to Ireland as over the years we have been to the show we have made some great friends and always find the Irish very hospitable and friendly.  That said, nothing can really be taken from the success of the day.... Zac won his class, and was awarded his first Challenge Certificate !  He was then declared Best of Breed - a super achievement as the judge for the day was Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews, the 2007 Crufts Best in Show judge !  Not only does he win this in style he does it under such a highly respected judge.  Our utmost thanks to Mrs Thorn-Andrews for starting him off.

To end the day, Zac then went into a star studded group and having been shortlisted into the final 6, Mr Hans Van Den Berg, awarded him 4th place !  A super achievement giving the quality of the dogs in the ring several of whom I am told afterwards had been awarded CC's from this judge before !

** PHOTOS OF THE DAY WILL BE ADDED SHORTLY **

Thanks to everyone who supported me at the show and for all the cards, emails and telephone calls we have had from everyone since.

*Congratulations to Shenice and Krista - aka TOPAZ PRECIOUS AT DAJELILNE, who was awarded Best of Breed and also shortlisted in the group - not bad for a 11 year old junior handler who is obviously destined for great things !! Well done to you both x

25th September 2007

Today we went to Nidderdale Agricultural Society Open Show, having had to go to return the Best in Show trophy Zac won last year.  Apart from the rain (and boy did it rain !), it was another lovely day, Zac won his class, was declared Best of Breed and was once again awarded the Best in Show award !  Two years in a row at such a large prestigious show (with nearly 2000 entries).  The judges for the day were Mrs Sue Hewart-Chambers (Breed) and Mr Ralph Garbutt (BIS).

22nd September 2007

Today we went to Driffield Championship show and despite the constant downpour, Zac won his Post Graduate class.

15th September 2007

Today we had a very enjoyable day out at Darlington Championship Show, unfortunately we were unable to enter as grandma Gloria was judging.  However, the day went quite well (despite the serial stalkers !) , and we would like to offer our huge congratulations to Di, Sharon and of course the expert handler Jade who made up Zacs aunt today.... CH Shalowseas Diani at Paradeso.  Huge congratulations to all.  Whilst unable to show my own dogs, I was asked to handle 'Badger' for Anne & Terry Springthorpe (Anne was somewhere in the Polish Lowland ring) in the challenge and won the RCC !!  This win makes 7 different Newfoundlands I have handled to a CC/RCC !

A little off the mark, but we would also like to extend our warmest Congratulations to Michelles 'big sister', Alison, on getting her qualifications to become a solicitor.  Well done - you deserve it ! They wont know what has hit them.

Ohhh, please be aware of the ring number thieves, next time try to do it without getting noticed !!

September 2007

A good start to the month at the City of Birmingham Championship Show - having enjoyed a very pleasurable day out at this lovely venue, we were extremely pleased to hear that Izzy (Shiresoak Amiabagatelle at Lisjovia) is now a Champion.  Michelle had the pleasure of starting Izzy off on the ticket trail handling her to her first CC (at her first ever Championship show), our congratulations go to Lisa and of course CH Izzy.

August 2007

Only one Open show this month, just for a little bit of training !! We had a lovely day out at York Canine Society and enjoyed a very pleasurable day in the sunshine (I know, it makes a change !).  Both Cooper and Zac won their classes with Zac getting the nod for Best of Breed and Group 2.  My utmost thanks to Gary Pearce (Longsdale Boxers) for doing such a fantastic job showing Cooper, having showed his socks off and enjoying his day out so much we will be returning back to the ring with him very soon - Watch this space for updates !

July 2007

We have had a few months out of the show ring, not only to give the boys a well earned rest but also to enjoy some luxury and sunshine on a 5 star holiday to Egypt !  To allow Zac to mature fully he will be selectively shown for the remainder of 2007 before embarking on our European tour in 2008.

May 2007

Congratulations to Stephen & Hilary Morgan with their homebred Schauweg Genuine Draft on winning another Reserve Green Star - now his 3rd - namely at Fermoy Ch Show, Hibernian Ch Show and the Celtic Winner Ch Show.  'Millar' is homebred by Stephen and Hilary, sired by Cameron and his pedigree goes back to CH Zac on his mothers side too.   We send out warmest congratulations and wish him continued success.
