Happy New Year to all our friends, we wish each and everyone of you continued success and best wishes for 2008. Boston Canine Society Championship Show (Judge Mrs Lucy Stevenson) Our first trip to the Boston Ch Show, and a very enjoyable day out. Zac had the biggest class of the day, 17 entries and he was placed a very respectable 5th. We were delighted with the comments made by the judge and several other exhibitors as to how nice he is looking, however, we still feel he is a little immature yet and his best is yet to come. Congratulations to all the winners on the day, especially Auntie Wispa (Ch Shalowseas Bear Necessity) on another well deserved CC. Manchester Championship Show (Judge: Anne Springthorpe) Unfortunately we couldn't make it to Manchester owing to work commitments and some quite important meetings in London which I couldn't miss or re-arrange. However, we offer our warmest congratulations to all the winners and the 2 new breed Champions... Ch Evanpark Bruce Almighty and Ch Sandbears Truly Scrumptious No more shows for January for us, quite a busy month for Michelle with a couple more meetings in London ahead ! Hopefully back to normal in February and hope to see you all at the shows !
I am pleased to say that the London meetings went well and its now down to those in the know to make all the final decisions ! As much as I dislike the hustle and bustle of London I did manage to see a few sights.. the usual.. Big Ben... Westminster.... Houses' of Parliament... Downing Street Whilst we have not been to any shows ourselves we are pleased to congratulate our friends on all their recent wins - keep up the good work ! The boys have been enjoying their day trips to various parks and sea-sides and I have been enjoying the champagne nights out with the girls. Back to normal next week with our pre-Crufts training at our local Open Show - and a very special occasion to celebrate while we are there. An open invitation is extended to all our friends to join the celebrations ! 24.02.08 I couldn't make it to the show today - which was a huge disappointment - I ended up on a last minute trip for work Good news this week - Zacs hip scores have come back - way below the breed average - 7:9 respectfully . Zac is now hip-scored, heart tested and cystinuria tested clear We have once again been invited to enter the UK Boxer Record Book 1991 -2007 with our boxer Ch Mobox Sheer Genius - the book will feature a gallery of every single boxer Champion made up during this period - the book will be available late 2008. Once available I will include details on the site so all boxer enthusiasts and collectors can get their own copy too !!
CRUFTS Once again, the usual yearly trip to Crufts, and despite someone's best efforts to stop me from going we made it and had a very nice day ! (CCTV is currently under police investigation), Zac was entered in Mid-Limit Dog under breed specialist Mr Hedd Richards (Sheridel), it was a lovely class and Zac put on his usual star performance, despite being sick on the morning and not quite being himself. We came home with a lovely 2nd place (18 entries) in a stunning line up. I managed to watch the Open Dog class at Crufts and was delighted to witness some of the best Newfoundlands in the World. The star studded class of 27 - saw 17 Champions - from all over the world. To be part of this magnificent breed is wonderful, and watching that class literally took my breath away. The entry itself was wonderful and I would personally like to say well one to all the winners - it was a truly memorable day. Huge Congratulations to Sharon & Jade on winning the BCC with Wispa - we are very proud of you Here are some pictures of the winners
We had to miss the Northern Newfoundland Club Ch Show as the breeder of both of my boys was judging. Congratulations to all the winners - especially Ch Shalowseas Bear Necessity who has won 3 CC's from the first 4 shows of the year. A huge well done. You can see the winners by clicking here This month we are off to WELKS under breed judge Del Richards (Sheridel), having just got a new camera I thought I would let you see the results !! This is Zac, now at 3 years old. and looking super - I am sure you will agree !!
WELKS proved to be quite a successful day for John and Gloria Burrows and the Mayoss gang, winning Junior Dog, Post Graduate Dog, Limit Dog, 2nd in Open Dog (and RCC), and Post Graduate Bitch !! Well done. We cant complain - Zac won a star studded Limit class and was very close for the CC/RCC. As usual he put on a flawless performance, although we were a bit disappointed when the judge chose not to take advantage of the full ring in the challenge, despite being used to its advantage in the individual classes, its not often we get a ring of this size to show off our beautiful dogs. Congratulations to the new breed Champion - Hutchinsons CH Wantopia Humming Chrous, who is the third new Champion of 2008, and the first landseer champion for a few years.
My apologies for the lack of updates recently, contrary to rumors I have not given up showing but have been very busy doing some paperwork which I have been putting off for a long time. Following recent events, it became apparent that I could not put it off any longer and the shows have had to suffer ! On the plus side (well, not quite sure if it is plus !) Zac has kindly decided to drop his coat too - great ! Now I know why I used to show a short-coated breed ! It is slowly coming back in, so its a toss of the coin as to where I make it to in the forthcoming months - we will have to see ! Whilst I have been away there has been quite a few people to say well done to... we have new Champions in the breed with Sue & Mark Blakes CH Sandbears Cappachino and Paddy Galvin & Gordon Cutts' Ch Merrybear Make My Day - both making it to their Champion status - well done ! Away from the breed, congratulations to Andy & Kate on making up CH Dexter, Alison and Paul on another RCC with Mia, and undoubtedly the best well done ever to Kevin & Elsie with the Jacalous team for their fantastic result at Southern Counties, DCC, RDCC, BCC, RBCC - Well Done.... and to top it all winning the group at Border Union !! The weather is proving to be very nice, and the boys are really enjoying the weather. Its been great to spend quality time with them and its amazing what they get up too ! We have had CCTV set up for years (always think its an added bonus when you own dogs ) we bought a newer much more hi-tech systems recently and it is capturing some very funny moments that they have been getting up to ! I will try and put some of the captured 'moments' on here shortly !
We would like to offer our extended congratulations to the latest Newfie Champions... Hedd & Del Richards new Ch Sheridel Nzo, and Willie and Amanda Dobbins CH & Ir CH Fairweathers Knockout for Brooklynbear, and of course Zacs 'baby brother' Mayoss Rimini who has now won his first RCC - well done John & Gloria x Hopefully more good news to follow shortly.....
