On 19th October 1992 a star was born, we called him
Mobox Sheer Genius. 'Zac' was one of a few who could take your breath away, he was a born
showman and a pleasure to both own and show. We had him to a show not long before he was taken from
us - it brought a lump to our throat to watch him 'do his stuff' he was so perfect - not because he
was a Champion but because he was so very, very special.
Zac's career started as a puppy winning quite a few
Best of Breeds and Best Puppy in Breeds. He finished his Puppy career off with Reserve Best Puppy in
Show. He continued as a Junior bringing home his Junior Warrant also winning his class at Crufts
under Lesley Boyle (Camsail).
His First Challenge Certificate came at Tyne Wear and Tees Boxer Club under German breed
Specialist Frau Karen Rezewski - he also went Reserve Best in Show. He followed this with a Reserve
Challenge Certificate from another breed specialist - (the now late), Mrs Daphne North (Carinya),
at the Scottish Kennel Club (August). His second Challenge Certificate came from Breed
Specialist and professional handler Phillip Greenway (Rayfos) at Belfast Championship Show, this
time going Best of Breed, he ended the day as the Working Group Winner (when both the
Working and Pastoral Groups were combined) under all- rounder Zena Thorn-Andrews. His third and
crowning Challenge Certificate came again from a breed specialist - Mary Foan (Ymar) at the
last show of the year L.K.A - a fantastic end to the year, out first home bred, owner handled,
Champion !
His career followed with a further Challenge Certificate at Tyne Wear and Tees Boxer Club
under breed specialist Barbara Greenway (Rayfos), who with deep sadness is no longer with us.
Another Challenge Certificate follwed, this time with Best in Show and Best Headed
Dog in show from Dutch Judge and breed specialist Roel Vennema (and Lesley Boyle for BIS).
He also won Reserve Challenge Certificates at Crufts under Phillip Greenway and also under Dr
Bruce Cattanach - both highly respected breed specialists.
He semi retired from the ring to make a couple of appearances as a veteran - he always came home in
the cards and was a multiple Best Veteran in Show winner at Open Shows.
Zac's last appearance at Crufts saw him win a start
studded Veteran Dog class under judge Mary Foan - her critique included: An old faviourite of mine.
Looking very fit and well defying the years strongly. Still got a lovely head and expression. Moved
easily and well. This was his last Crufts and he did us proud.
